About us

A warm welcome to the Burgerbibliothek Bern – Archives and Special Collections. The Burgerbibliothek is a cultural institution belonging to Bern’s Burgergemeinde. It collects, catalogues and conserves administrative and private archives, manuscripts and historical visual documents. It makes its collections available to interested members of the public and academic researchers and enhances the cultural life of the City of Bern with its events and publications.
