Ordering books
The Burgerbibliothek Bern collects publications relating to its collections and on technical issues related to archiving. Books can be searched for using the national libraries catalogue swisscovery and may be consulted in the reading room, but cannot be borrowed.
01 Search for a publication in our library using swisscovery
- Go directly via our home page to the website of the Bern special libraries on swisscovery.
- Enter the details of the publication you are looking for in the search field (author and/or title, if possible, year)
- In the left-hand menu, restrict the results to «Burgerbibliothek Bern». [vgl. Screenshot unten]

02 Ordering procedure
- Click on the result and select «Burgerbibliothek Bern» as the location to «Pick up on site».
- Copy the reference, author and title into an email.
- Send the email with the date on which you wish to view the item in the reading room.
- You will receive confirmation by email of your order and the reservation of a work station on the requested date.
